FAQ

It's really up to the client. But typically, the best approach is for us to be involved throughout the entire process, including construction. Our comprehensive involvement ensures that your vision is realized precisely and we can advocate for the best interest of the client and project from start to finish.
We hold licenses to practice architecture in New York, New Jersey, California, Ohio, and Colorado. And with our National Council (NCARB) registration, we can easily apply for license reciprocity in most other states. We have experience managing remote projects with local consultants, virtual communication, and/or on-site staffing. The needs of each project are unique and we tailor accordingly.
Collaboration is not only essential for a successful outcome, but also for good design. We engage in an iterative design approach: maintaining excellent communication and incorporating feedback to inform the design process and general project management style and approach. We prioritize transparency, ensuring clients are empowered to make informed decisions at every phase.
Most existing buildings hold tremendous value and potential when utilized properly. Our approach to adaptive reuse emphasizes the preservation of historic elements while introducing contemporary interventions to enhance functionality while respecting the building's original character. Sustainability is inherent to our practice. We encompass the most current energy-efficiency standards with important environmental design principles. Foremost, our designs are carefully calibrated with the natural site elements: climate, sun, and wind. We apply long-term thinking to material selection and detailing to consider how a building is maintained, repurposed, and decommissioned. By prioritizing design excellence, we prioritize our future.
