About

Creativity is shaped by discipline. Through an iterative design and analysis process, we test ideas against the realities of construction and long-term demands of use and occupancy. Our free-form thinking is grounded in material science and field expertise. We produce work that is both inventive and buildable. Every project is a collaboration — a shared opportunity to create architecture that enables people to work, live, and wonder.

Design is a tool. What can we do for you?

Analysis

Every project begins with careful observation. Through direct engagement with the client, consultants, and the project site, we work to uncover what are the constraints and opportunities. Design nets the greatest impact when this is properly understood and communicated.

Research

Our work is informed by inquiry. We investigate materials, systems, precedents, and emerging technologies to ground design decisions in knowledge, performance, and accountability. With decades of practical experience, we innovate with precision in both design and delivery.

Mapping

Mapping measures a project’s performance against its goals. Design decisions are tested across scales, from concept through construction. This is holistic and granular analysis—how materials and detailing perform in assembly, use, and disassembly. The full lifecycle is resolved in form and function.

Integration

Integration is where architecture is made intentional. We understand the materials, assemblies, and building systems that articulate design—their function, performance, and appearance. By bridging disciplines early, we deliver projects that perform as seamlessly as they appear.

Designer

We are designers, diverse and disciplined. Our product types include buildings, interiors, adaptive reuse, urban planning, land development, infrastructure, objects, art, lighting, and graphics. Design is not an isolated event, but a process of working towards a solution based on objective and purpose. Our work prioritizes spatial and systematic clarity. We balance ingenuity with a deep technical understanding of construction detailing.

Consultant

The role of Consultant strategically positions the project according to goals; shaping the who, what, where, and why. This is not an optional add-on, but oftentimes the most important determining factor of a project’s success. We assess feasibility, risk, cost, and long-term value, guiding clients to navigate complex decisions with transparency and foresight.

Coordinator

Architecture is a multidisciplinary effort that demands careful orchestration. As coordinators, we align engineers, contractors, agencies, and stakeholders around a common vision. We manage information flow, resolve conflicts early, and work to maintain the integrity of the design through every phase of the project. Complex operations are made clear and legible with our careful attention to detail.

Construction Manager

In the role of construction manager, we see the project through the lens of the builder, focusing primarily on budget, schedule, procurement, and logistics. As construction manager, we track design intent through execution, oftentimes managing subcontractors or providing direct oversight of the general contractor. Our aim is to maintain control over the overall vision  from inception through a checks and balance of cost and feasibility.

FAQ

It's really up to the client. But typically, the best approach is for us to be involved throughout the entire process, including construction. Our comprehensive involvement ensures that your vision is realized precisely and we can advocate for the best interest of the client and project from start to finish.
We hold licenses to practice architecture in New York, New Jersey, California, Ohio, and Colorado. And with our National Council (NCARB) registration, we can easily apply for license reciprocity in most other states. We have experience managing remote projects with local consultants, virtual communication, and/or on-site staffing. The needs of each project are unique and we tailor accordingly.
Collaboration is not only essential for a successful outcome, but also for good design. We engage in an iterative design approach: maintaining excellent communication and incorporating feedback to inform the design process and general project management style and approach. We prioritize transparency, ensuring clients are empowered to make informed decisions at every phase.
Most existing buildings hold tremendous value and potential when utilized properly. Our approach to adaptive reuse emphasizes the preservation of historic elements while introducing contemporary interventions to enhance functionality while respecting the building's original character. We apply methodic coordination and planning measures to integrate an old structure with current technology.
Yes. Andre Architecture is a minority-owned and certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) by New York State. We are committed to promoting inclusivity within the industry by collaborating with minority clients, team members, and women and minority-owned product and service vendors.
Sustainability is inherent to our practice. We encompass the most current energy-efficiency standards with important environmental design principles. Foremost, our designs are carefully calibrated with the natural site elements: climate, sun, and wind. We apply long-term thinking to material selection and detailing to consider how a building is maintained, repurposed, and decommissioned. By prioritizing design excellence, we prioritize our future.
